Main Info
Baksei Chamkrong is a small but significant pyramid-shaped temple located near the southern entrance of Angkor Thom, close to Phnom Bakheng. Built in the 10th century by King Harshavarman I and later completed by Rajendravarman II, it is one of the earliest temples in the Angkor complex constructed with laterite and brick. The temple is dedicated to Shiva and features a well-preserved central shrine with Sanskrit inscriptions. Its stepped-pyramid design makes it unique among Angkor temples.
