Baphuon Temple is an ancient Hindu temple turned Buddhist shrine, located within Angkor Thom, near Bayon Temple. Built in the 11th century by King Udayadityavarman II, it was dedicated to Lord Shiva before being converted into a Buddhist temple. Known as a “temple-mountain,” Baphuon features a steep, multi-tiered pyramid structure, symbolizing Mount Meru (the center of the universe in Hindu and Buddhist cosmology). A massive reclining Buddha was later carved into its western side.

How to Get There?	By Air: Fly into Siem Reap International Airport (REP). From the airport, take a taxi or tuk-tuk (15-20 minutes) to Angkor Park. By Bus: From Phnom Penh: Buses take 5-6 hours to Siem Reap. From Bangkok, Thailand: Direct buses take 8-10 hours.
