Main Info
Bayon Temple is one of the most famous and mystical temples in Cambodia, located at the heart of Angkor Thom. Built in the late 12th to early 13th century by King Jayavarman VII, Bayon is known for its 216 massive stone-carved faces, which symbolize compassion and wisdom. The temple has intricate bas-reliefs depicting daily life, battles, and religious scenes from the Khmer Empire. Unlike Angkor Wat, which follows a structured design, Bayon has a maze-like layout, adding to its charm and mystery.
