Bousra Waterfall

Description

Bou Sra, also written Bousra or Busra, is Mondulkiri’s best-known waterfall destination in Pechreada district. Its successive drops make the permitted viewing route more useful than a single roadside stop.

Choose the tiers you can comfortably reach and allow time for the return ascent. Water volume and access vary; ask staff which levels can be visited that day.

How to Get There

From Sen Monorom, take the road east toward Bousra in Pechreada district by car, motorbike or a day-tour vehicle. Walk from the visitor area to the waterfall viewpoints; the different falls levels are reached by paths and steps.

Admission

Entry, parking and activities can be charged separately at recreation sites. A reliable current tariff is not published in the reviewed sources; keep a separate cash allowance for the visit rather than relying on an old quoted price.

Photograph the falls from permitted viewpoints, follow open paths between accessible tiers, and take a break away from wet ledges. Ask separately about any activity operator and its current terms.

What to Eat

Coffee, rice dishes and cooked vegetables make a useful highland meal. For a village or forest programme, choose a package that explicitly includes meals instead of relying on a trail-side shop.

Stay in Sen Monorom for the main highland road network and restaurants. Jahoo and other community or conservation stays are programme bookings outside town.

Best Time to Visit

Water flow is usually stronger during and after the rainy season, while the dry season can expose more rock. Visit in daylight and avoid the stream during heavy rain or a sudden rise in water level.

Before You Go

Wear shoes with grip and keep back from wet rock edges. Ask the guide which paths are open; assess water conditions locally before entering a pool and do not climb beside a drop.
