Saved places

The save button stores destination identifiers in your browser's local storage. This device-only preference does not create an account. Remove a saved place with the same button or clear your browser's site data.

Owner accounts and publishing

The authenticated admin editor stores drafts, published guides and configuration on the server. Draft content requires an authorised owner session. Publishing makes selected content public. Uploaded media and appearance settings are stored by the website.

Popular-place counts

The website counts place-link clicks to order popular collections. These counters hold place identifiers and daily totals, not a visitor profile.

Maps, media and external websites

Map views request tiles from their map provider. Some location embeds connect to Google Maps when loaded. Video players connect to the selected platform after you choose a video; original-platform links open external websites. Those providers process their own requests under their privacy policies.

Optional Google Analytics

The owner can enable Google Analytics 4 to measure visits to public pages. When enabled, the Google tag may process page visits, device and browser information and analytics cookies under Google's policies. The tag is not added to admin pages or API responses. Google advertising signals and ad-personalisation signals are disabled by this integration.

This integration does not load the Analytics tag when the browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. You can also block analytics with browser privacy controls. Analytics is optional and independent of your ability to read guides, use maps or save places.

Hosting and security

The hosting service handles requests and technical logs needed to deliver and secure the website. Owner login sessions use a secure session cookie. Clearing browser data signs you out and removes device-only preferences.
