How to Get There

National Road 4 links Phnom Penh with Chbar Mon and the Kirirom approach at Traeng Trayueng. Travel by car or intercity road transport, then use the road or trail appropriate to the destination.

Continue toward Ta Sal community approach, Aoral for Khnong Sampov - Community Approach. The road journey reaches the local approach or hill base; climbing, cave and mountain sections continue on foot. A driver for the outward journey does not replace the return transport.

Admission

A hill walk, a religious site, parking and a guided trek may have separate charges. A reliable current tariff for this destination is not published in the reviewed sources.

Things to Do

Agree the full route, guide, transport and return plan with the community. Keep to permitted trails and pack out all waste.

What to Eat

Rice dishes, grilled meat and fruit are practical roadside meals. Palm sugar and palm-sugar sweets are characteristic local purchases; carry meals and water for remote hikes.

Where to Stay

Use Chbar Mon or Phnom Penh for lower-country day trips. Kirirom has its own accommodation areas; mountain treks need a planned overnight rather than an improvised roadside camp.

Best Time to Visit

Start early for cooler walking and clearer planning around the return. November to February is generally more comfortable for an exposed climb; wet-season trails and cave floors can be slippery.

Before You Go

Respect local residents and worshippers. Stay on permitted paths; ask before entering buildings or photographing people. Ask the host about current access and keep away from restricted infrastructure or unsafe water.
