Description

Phnom Koy is described as a wooded hill and stream outing north of Pailin in Sala Krau. Older guidebooks use the spelling Phnom Keuy and an earlier Stung Kach administrative description.

Keep it separate from the Phnom Khiev waterfall south of town. A broad commercial description calling both Blue Mountain is not sufficient evidence to combine them.

How to Get There

Travel from Battambang to Pailin on the Road 57 corridor by car or other road transport. Continue from Pailin town to local hills, farms and waterfall approaches.

Continue toward Sala Krau, north of for Phnom Koy Landscape. The road journey reaches the local approach or hill base; climbing, cave and mountain sections continue on foot. A driver for the outward journey does not replace the return transport.

Admission

A hill walk, a religious site, parking and a guided trek may have separate charges. A reliable current tariff for this destination is not published in the reviewed sources.

Things to Do

Follow the established approach to the viewpoint, cave or hilltop grounds. Pause to look at the landscape and religious or natural features without climbing barriers or leaving marked routes.

What to Eat

Longan is a characteristic Pailin crop; buy fruit in season. Rice, noodle dishes and market snacks make practical meals before a countryside outing.

Where to Stay

Pailin town is the main base for Phnom Yat and surrounding countryside. An orchard or day-use resort is not automatically an overnight property.

Best Time to Visit

Start early for cooler walking and clearer planning around the return. November to February is generally more comfortable for an exposed climb; wet-season trails and cave floors can be slippery.

Before You Go

A place called resort in an older guide does not establish hotel accommodation or unrestricted forest access. Stung Tareap remains a separate identity and access question.

Check current provincial access and the linked official border-area travel advice before arranging this outing.
