Description

Phnom Preah, also reported as Phnom Indrabat Borei, is a hill destination in Andoung Snay, Roleabier. The province’s attraction lists place it separately from Phnom Preah Theat.

This guide concerns that Roleabier hill. Footage of Phnom Preah Theat in Samaki Meanchey or Phnom Khnong Preah in Kampong Speu is not used as a substitute.

How to Get There

From Phnom Penh, travel north on National Road 5 to Kampong Chhnang by bus, minivan or car. The town is the road base for Roleabier and Teuk Phos, with separate river routes toward lake communities.

Continue toward Andoung Snay, Roleabier for Phnom Preah, Roleabier. The road journey reaches the local approach or hill base; climbing, cave and mountain sections continue on foot. A driver for the outward journey does not replace the return transport.

Admission

A hill walk, a religious site, parking and a guided trek may have separate charges. A reliable current tariff for this destination is not published in the reviewed sources.

Follow the established approach to the viewpoint, cave or hilltop grounds. Pause to look at the landscape and religious or natural features without climbing barriers or leaving marked routes.

Where to Stay

Stay in Kampong Chhnang town for the market, riverfront and onward day trips. A visit to a lake village does not require sleeping on a floating house.

Best Time to Visit

Start early for cooler walking and clearer planning around the return. November to February is generally more comfortable for an exposed climb; wet-season trails and cave floors can be slippery.
