Description
Virachey is a national-park landscape spanning northeastern Cambodia, with documented coverage in Ratanakiri and Stung Treng. This guide concerns the Ratanakiri approach and locally arranged visits.
Conservation research records diverse forests, wildlife and community relationships. A park listing is not a self-guided itinerary, and wildlife sightings are not guaranteed.
Place and locality context ↗How to Get There
Reach Banlung by intercity bus, minivan or car. From the Stung Treng side, the road connection runs east toward Banlung; waterfalls, Veun Sai and forest programmes are separate outings.
For Virachey National Park - Ratanakiri, continue toward Ta Veng / Veun Sai park approach landscape. A car or motorbike covers the local road section; use the established approach for the final walk and keep a return vehicle for a countryside outing.
Road and transport context ↗Admission
Outdoor public areas, private premises and paid activities have different entry arrangements. A reliable single admission tariff for the whole destination is not published in the reviewed sources.
Things to Do
Choose a guided forest or landscape itinerary appropriate to the season and your group. Learn about conservation and community knowledge without leaving the agreed route.
Place and locality context ↗What to Eat
Rice dishes, seasonal fruit and coffee are practical choices around Banlung. Take a packed lunch and water for a forest or river outing.
Where to Stay
Banlung is the main accommodation base for the volcanic lakes and nearby waterfalls. A Veun Sai or Virachey overnight is a separate community or trekking arrangement.
Best Time to Visit
Morning or late afternoon is comfortable for outdoor city walking. Plan evening entertainment around the dated programme rather than a general daytime sightseeing schedule.
Before You Go
Do not enter remote forest, border areas or an unconfirmed camp using a general park map. The earlier Stung Treng-sector guide is retained separately.
Videos
Watch visits and stories about this place. Older footage may show different access, facilities or river conditions.
