Description

Chrok La Eang is a waterfall and stream landscape in the Chheu Tom area of Krakor. Its rocky watercourse and surrounding trees make it a distinct outing from the far-western Veal Veng waterfalls.

Local sources describe more than one named stage along the water. Ask which part is currently accessible rather than assuming that every cascade has a maintained path.

How to Get There

Reach Pursat on National Road 5 by bus, minivan or car. National Road 55 is the inland mountain corridor toward Pramaoy and Veal Veng; lake villages lie on the Tonle Sap side.

For Chrok La Eang Waterfall, continue toward Bamnak / Chheu Tom, Krakor. A car or motorbike covers the local road section; use the established approach for the final walk and keep a return vehicle for a countryside outing.

Admission

Entry, parking and activities can be charged separately at recreation sites. A reliable current tariff is not published in the reviewed sources; keep a separate cash allowance for the visit rather than relying on an old quoted price.

Things to Do

Enjoy the stream and forest from a stable authorised path. Choose a place for a picnic only where the host permits it and take all waste away.

What to Eat

Try locally grown citrus when in season, freshwater fish and rice dishes. Stock up with water and picnic supplies before driving into the western mountains.

Where to Stay

Pursat town is useful for the riverfront and lowland heritage sites. Pramaoy and Osoam suit western mountain itineraries; they are separate bases from the lake villages.

Best Time to Visit

Water flow is usually stronger during and after the rainy season, while the dry season can expose more rock. Visit in daylight and avoid the stream during heavy rain or a sudden rise in water level.

Before You Go

Check recent rain and water levels. Slippery rock and fast flow can make bathing or crossing inappropriate even when an older video shows people in the water.
