Description
Kbal Spean is a forest riverbed site with carved religious imagery reached by a walking trail.
This river-carving site is separate from the main Phnom Kulen waterfall area. Water levels affect which carvings can be seen.

Travel from Siem Reap along the Banteay Srei corridor to the Kbal Spean access area, then walk uphill on the marked forest trail to the river carvings. A car or tuk-tuk gets you to the trailhead, not to the carvings.

Angkor Enterprise lists a standalone one-day Kbal Spean ticket at US$5. ACCB's conservation-centre programme is a separate visit.

Try rice noodles, amok or a rice-and-vegetable meal around the Old Market or Wat Bo. Carry water and a snack for temple or lake excursions.
Where to Stay
Stay around the Old Market, Wat Bo or central Siem Reap River for restaurants and onward transport. Angkor and the lake villages are separate excursions from the city.
Best Time to Visit
Morning or late afternoon is comfortable for outdoor city walking. Plan evening entertainment around the dated programme rather than a general daytime sightseeing schedule.

Dress respectfully, remain on the permitted visitor route and avoid touching carvings or climbing restricted structures. Conservation work and religious observances can change access.
