Description

The Mondulkiri Project is a Cambodian-operated elephant sanctuary offering guided visits and longer jungle treks from Sen Monorom. It has its own booking system and contact details.

Its published tours describe time observing elephants, a forest-waterfall setting and optional overnight programmes. Check the actual activities and level of contact in your chosen package before booking.

How to Get There

Take an intercity bus, minivan or car to Sen Monorom, the provincial town. The eastern road journey comes through the Snuol corridor; forest programmes start with a separate local transfer.

For Mondulkiri Project, continue toward Forest sanctuary reached from Sen Monorom. A car or motorbike covers the local road section; use the established approach for the final walk and keep a return vehicle for a countryside outing.

Admission

The official site lists the one-day elephant tour at US$50 per person on the page reviewed 22 October 2026. Confirm current inclusions, child eligibility and any overnight or trekking supplement before reserving.

Things to Do

Observe the elephants under the guides’ direction and learn about the project. Add a jungle trek or overnight stay only through an agreed programme suited to your fitness.

What to Eat

Coffee, rice dishes and cooked vegetables make a useful highland meal. For a village or forest programme, choose a package that explicitly includes meals instead of relying on a trail-side shop.

Where to Stay

Stay in Sen Monorom for the main highland road network and restaurants. Jahoo and other community or conservation stays are programme bookings outside town.

Best Time to Visit

Morning or late afternoon is comfortable for outdoor city walking. Plan evening entertainment around the dated programme rather than a general daytime sightseeing schedule.

Before You Go

Discuss fitness and age requirements for the particular trek and follow the guides’ instructions around elephants. The project states that it does not offer riding or performances.
