Description

Neak Buos is a temple group in Tuek Kraham commune on the side of the Dangrek range. Brick, sandstone and laterite structures reflect more than one building phase rather than a single uniform monument.

The field inventory identifies it as IK 291 / CISARK 603. Published field directions describe earlier journeys and do not confirm present visitor access in this northern border landscape.

How to Get There

Use Preah Vihear town, Sra Aem or the Srayang/Koh Ker area as the road base appropriate to your itinerary. Intercity road transport reaches the province; the major temple groups are separate journeys.

For Neak Buos Temple, continue toward Tuek Kraham commune, Choam Khsant district. A car or motorbike covers the local road section; use the established approach for the final walk and keep a return vehicle for a countryside outing.

Admission

A reliable current ticket price for this site is not published in the reviewed sources. Keep transport and any parking or guide service separate from admission; voluntary religious donations are not the same as a published ticket.

Things to Do

Study the documented history before travelling. If access is confirmed, use a guided permitted route to view the surviving temple groups and differences in material without entering unstable structures.

What to Eat

Eat a rice or noodle meal in your overnight town and carry lunch and water for a longer temple or forest outing. Do not eat among archaeological remains.

Where to Stay

Preah Vihear town suits the central province, Sra Aem the northern temple approach, and the Srayang area the Koh Ker group. Choose the base for the actual temple you intend to visit.

Best Time to Visit

Morning or late afternoon is more comfortable for exposed courtyards and climbs. The cooler, drier months from November to February suit longer heritage walks.

Before You Go

Follow current local authority and heritage instructions for the northern approach. Keep to the explicitly permitted route, respect closures and do not use an unverified track to bypass a restriction. Leave archaeological material undisturbed.
