Description

O’Russey Kandal is a documented community ecotourism site along the National Road 7 corridor south of Stung Treng town. Community tourism developed around stream and forest resources with support from Mlup Baitong.

The community is also named in a 2026 tourism meeting. Older directories describe picnics, forest walks and homestays; check which activities and receiving hosts are available for your date.

How to Get There

Reach Stung Treng by bus, minivan or car on the National Road 7 corridor. Mekong communities, Siem Pang and the waterfall area need onward road or boat journeys.

For O’Russey Kandal Ecotourism Community, continue toward O’Russey Kandal commune, Siem Bok. A car or motorbike covers the local road section; use the established approach for the final walk and keep a return vehicle for a countryside outing.

Admission

Outdoor public areas, private premises and paid activities have different entry arrangements. A reliable single admission tariff for the whole destination is not published in the reviewed sources.

Things to Do

Enjoy the stream from a permitted bank, arrange a guided forest walk and learn how community tourism relates to local resource management. Ask before entering any village or forest path.

What to Eat

Try cooked freshwater fish with rice in town, and buy packaged local dried-fish products as appropriate. Carry meals and water for a river or forest programme.

Where to Stay

Stung Treng town is the main base for food and onward travel. Koh Han and other community stays are separate bookings; Siem Pang programmes need their own overnight plan.

Best Time to Visit

Morning or late afternoon is comfortable for outdoor city walking. Plan evening entertainment around the dated programme rather than a general daytime sightseeing schedule.

Before You Go

Check stream conditions locally and keep away from fast water and slippery rocks. Do not use an old swimming description or old directory price as confirmation of today’s conditions or charges.
