Description
Peam Krasaop protects a network of mangroves, islands and tidal channels. Boeng Kayak is the visitor gateway described in travel references, with elevated walkways and a bridge across the water. These visitor features are included here together, rather than counted as three unrelated destinations.
Research reference ↗How to Get There
Reach Koh Kong town by bus, minivan or car on the National Road 48 corridor from the National Road 4 junction. Tatai and Sre Ambel are separate stops along this wider route.
Use Boeng Kayak visitor area as the local approach area for Peam Krasaop Wildlife Sanctuary. Continue beyond the road base on an established guided programme; forest tracks and wildlife routes are different from public town roads.
Road and transport context ↗Admission
Guided conservation and community programmes are booked as activities, with transport, guiding, meals or overnight stays priced according to the chosen programme. A sanctuary boundary is not an unrestricted public entrance. A reliable single admission price is not published in the reviewed material.
Things to Do
- Walk the open mangrove boardwalk
- Cross the suspension bridge when staff permit
- Take community boat ride through the channels
What to Eat
Fish, seafood and rice dishes suit the coastal part of the province. Carry a packed lunch for a forest outing; community and boat programmes can include meals when sold as part of the trip.
Where to Stay
Koh Kong town works for the western coast and nearby mangroves. Use Tatai for river stays, Chi Phat for its community trails, or Koh Sdach for the southern archipelago.
Best Time to Visit
November to February usually brings cooler weather for forest walks. Start wildlife outings early; wet-season rain can make tracks slower and change which routes can be used.
Before You Go
Stay on open walkways, supervise children at bridge edges and keep food waste out of the water. Treat boat availability, bridge access and wildlife sightings as conditions to check locally.
