Description

Thma Da Touch is a rocky cascade promoted in connection with the NR55 mountain landscape and sometimes called the Phnom 1500 waterfall. It is separate from the winding-road viewpoints.

The name does not mean that every stop in the Phnom 1500 area is the same attraction. Thma Da Thom / Chhay Dach is also a separate waterfall identity.

Place and local context ↗

How to Get There

From Pursat, follow National Road 55 toward Pramaoy and Veal Veng, then continue along the mountain corridor toward the Phnom 1500/Thma Da area. Use a roadworthy vehicle for the long mountain drive; waterfall paths and viewpoints are separate stops off the road.

Admission

Entry, parking and activities can be charged separately at recreation sites. A reliable current tariff is not published in the reviewed sources; keep a separate cash allowance for the visit rather than relying on an old quoted price.

Things to Do

View the cascade and its forest setting from an agreed stable path. Ask where stopping and walking are currently permitted.

What to Eat

Try locally grown citrus when in season, freshwater fish and rice dishes. Stock up with water and picnic supplies before driving into the western mountains.

Where to Stay

Pursat town is useful for the riverfront and lowland heritage sites. Pramaoy and Osoam suit western mountain itineraries; they are separate bases from the lake villages.

Best Time to Visit

Water flow is usually stronger during and after the rainy season, while the dry season can expose more rock. Visit in daylight and avoid the stream during heavy rain or a sudden rise in water level.

Before You Go

Check rain, flow and current restrictions. Do not assume the stepped rock is safe for bathing, climbing or crossing.
