Description

Phnom Nam Lear is a named rock-mountain destination in the Bousra area of Pechreada district. It is a particular landscape feature within the broader Nam Lear region.

Bunong community conservation and visitor initiatives operate around Phnom Namlear. Ask a responsible local host about the permitted rock route; the wildlife sanctuary is a much wider protected area.

How to Get There

Take an intercity bus, minivan or car to Sen Monorom, the provincial town. The eastern road journey comes through the Snuol corridor; forest programmes start with a separate local transfer.

Continue toward Bousra–Putert area, Pechreada district for Phnom Nam Lear Rock. The road journey reaches the local approach or hill base; climbing, cave and mountain sections continue on foot. A driver for the outward journey does not replace the return transport.

What to Eat

Coffee, rice dishes and cooked vegetables make a useful highland meal. For a village or forest programme, choose a package that explicitly includes meals instead of relying on a trail-side shop.

Where to Stay

Stay in Sen Monorom for the main highland road network and restaurants. Jahoo and other community or conservation stays are programme bookings outside town.

Best Time to Visit

Start early for cooler walking and clearer planning around the return. November to February is generally more comfortable for an exposed climb; wet-season trails and cave floors can be slippery.

Before You Go

Follow the local guide’s route and community land rules. Exposed rock can be slippery or hot; keep clear of steep edges, and avoid crossing restricted land to reach a map point.
