Description

Sala Prambei Lvaeng, also written Sala Prambei Lveng, is an ancient site in Kang Techou in the Thala Barivat area, recorded as IK 324. The surviving remains are modest, rather than a complete multi-chamber temple.

Historical inventories use several spellings, including Sala Prambuon Loven. These names refer to this documented site and should not be confused with the Prambei Lvaeng terraces at Angkor.

How to Get There

Reach Stung Treng by bus, minivan or car on the National Road 7 corridor. Mekong communities, Siem Pang and the waterfall area need onward road or boat journeys.

For Sala Prambei Lvaeng Temple, continue toward Kang Techou, Thala Barivat. A car or motorbike covers the local road section; use the established approach for the final walk and keep a return vehicle for a countryside outing.

What to Eat

Try cooked freshwater fish with rice in town, and buy packaged local dried-fish products as appropriate. Carry meals and water for a river or forest programme.

Where to Stay

Stung Treng town is the main base for food and onward travel. Koh Han and other community stays are separate bookings; Siem Pang programmes need their own overnight plan.

Best Time to Visit

Morning or late afternoon is more comfortable for exposed courtyards and climbs. The cooler, drier months from November to February suit longer heritage walks.

Before You Go

Wear shoes with grip and follow locally approved paths. Avoid overgrown shortcuts and do not move brick fragments or enter neighboring land without permission.
