Description
The Battambang Sneng destination includes an eastern group of three brick sanctuaries and a separate western sandstone temple. They stand near one another but are different monuments.
Archaeological inventories record the east group as IK 866 and the west as IK 867. This guide covers the pair without treating them as identical towers, and does not refer to the Sneng Krabei temples in Preah Vihear.
Site reference ↗How to Get There
Reach Battambang by bus, minivan or car along National Road 5. Tuk-tuks and cars connect the city with nearby temples and countryside stops.
For Sneng Temples — East & West, continue toward Snoeng Kaeut, Snoeng commune, Banan district. A car or motorbike covers the local road section; use the established approach for the final walk and keep a return vehicle for a countryside outing.
Road and transport context ↗Admission
A reliable current ticket price for this site is not published in the reviewed sources. Keep transport and any parking or guide service separate from admission; voluntary religious donations are not the same as a published ticket.
Things to Do
Compare the eastern brick group with the western sandstone structure and surviving carved lintels. Observe from safe ground and ask a local guide to explain the different plans.
Site reference ↗What to Eat
Try rice noodles, grilled fish and seasonal fruit in Battambang. The central market and riverfront area offer a practical meal stop before a countryside outing.
Where to Stay
Central Battambang and the Sangkae riverfront are useful bases for food, galleries and day trips. Samlout and the western districts are longer journeys beyond the city.
Best Time to Visit
Morning or late afternoon is more comfortable for exposed courtyards and climbs. The cooler, drier months from November to February suit longer heritage walks.
Before You Go
Dress respectfully, remove shoes where requested and ask before photographing people or shrine interiors. Stay on permitted paths, leave archaeological objects in place and avoid climbing unstable masonry.
