Description

Thma Dos is a separate ancient temple in the Phnom Tamao hill group. It is associated with the nearby hill recorded as Phnom Thma Doh.

The historic monument is not the same attraction as the rescue centre or Phnom Tamao pagoda. The map marks the hill area rather than a visitor entrance.

How to Get There

National Road 2 connects Phnom Penh with the Takeo corridor. Use a car or intercity road transport for the main journey, then a tuk-tuk or car for individual heritage stops.

For Prasat Thma Dos, continue toward Phnom Tamao hills, Bati. A car or motorbike covers the local road section; use the established approach for the final walk and keep a return vehicle for a countryside outing.

Admission

A reliable current ticket price for this site is not published in the reviewed sources. Keep transport and any parking or guide service separate from admission; voluntary religious donations are not the same as a published ticket.

Things to Do

Walk the permitted visitor route, look closely at the surviving architecture and allow time for the landscape around it. Keep a respectful distance from worshippers and do not climb fragile masonry.

What to Eat

Takeo town and roadside settlements offer freshwater fish, rice and noodle dishes. Carry water for hill climbs and eat outside the temple precinct.

Where to Stay

Takeo town suits Angkor Borei and the southern province. Phnom Penh is convenient for the northern Tonle Bati and Phnom Chisor outings; these are different itineraries.

Best Time to Visit

Morning or late afternoon is more comfortable for exposed courtyards and climbs. The cooler, drier months from November to February suit longer heritage walks.

Before You Go

Respect local residents and worshippers. Stay on permitted paths; ask before entering buildings or photographing people. Do not climb fragile masonry or remove stone fragments.
