Description

Prey Deum Srok is the temple at Boeng Chor, Prey Tueng commune, also recorded as Preah Theat Prei Chong Srok. Its heritage inventory identifier is IK 67.

The surviving brick tower, sandstone doorway and tree roots are distinctive features. The associated inscription K.761 is discussed in archaeological research, but an inscription’s date should not be treated as a simple date for every surviving part of the building.

What to Eat

Freshwater fish, rice-noodle soup and rice dishes are practical choices in town. Bring water and snacks for a wetland or rural heritage outing.

Where to Stay

Stay in Prey Veng town for the lakefront and central province, or use Phnom Penh as the base for a planned day trip. Allow for the onward drive to a rural site.

Best Time to Visit

Morning or late afternoon is more comfortable for exposed courtyards and climbs. The cooler, drier months from November to February suit longer heritage walks.

Before You Go

Respect any barrier or caretaker instruction around the cracked masonry. Stay off the roots and brickwork, leave loose objects untouched and ask whether the interior is open before approaching it.
