Spean Praptos Ancient Bridge

Description

Spean Praptos is the ancient stone bridge at Kampong Kdei, away from the main Angkor temple circuits.

The bridge is in Siem Reap despite appearing in some itineraries from Kampong Thom. Modern crossings and the protected bridge have different roles.

How to Get There

Reach Siem Reap by intercity bus, minivan or car; the Phnom Penh road corridor follows National Road 6. Use a tuk-tuk or car for countryside outings.

For Spean Praptos Ancient Bridge, continue toward Kampong Kdei. A car or motorbike covers the local road section; use the established approach for the final walk and keep a return vehicle for a countryside outing.

Admission

Outdoor public areas, private premises and paid activities have different entry arrangements. A reliable single admission tariff for the whole destination is not published in the reviewed sources.

View the bridge and its naga balustrades from safe permitted positions.

What to Eat

Try rice noodles, amok or a rice-and-vegetable meal around the Old Market or Wat Bo. Carry water and a snack for temple or lake excursions.

Stay around the Old Market, Wat Bo or central Siem Reap River for restaurants and onward transport. Angkor and the lake villages are separate excursions from the city.

Morning or late afternoon is comfortable for outdoor city walking. Plan evening entertainment around the dated programme rather than a general daytime sightseeing schedule.
